Funny, I never noticed the slow start-up time with firefox until Chrome came out. Now I find myself hitting the firefox button, waiting a few seconds...... "screw it!" and hitting the Chrome button instead. The instant start-up time might just be the feature that sends me over the edge.

In my opinion Firefox out of the box is a better browser. From what I've read it's also more secure. Since it's free, I see no reason to use Safari.

Last I checked you didn't own a mac. How can you definitively speak against safari. I use it at home (on a mac) most evenings without a hitch. Haven't tried the windows version, but where's hate coming from. I call not fair.

Honestly it wasn't that bad. The move from shared items to your public tag is one-way, one time only, but not hard at all. Once you've switched, tagging only involves two more keystrokes than shift+s, so it's an acceptable trade off for me.

I have been one of those unhappy about the change (obviously), but just hadn't looked into changing. I'm surprised it wasn't harder. The research is what took most of the time. If you only want to move your stuff out of shared items to a tag, it would only take ten minutes.

Informing people of the change is more complicated, because by definition, you don't just want to throw the new URL out to the world (at least I don't).

Very interesting. I had no idea that you were in the camp that was unhappy with the "Shared Items" modifications that Google had made. I remember when I switched my public feed from starred items to shared items, it was a real pain. I'm not sure that I have the desire or energy to go to tagging so that I can control access to the feed.

I just gave it a listen, and I really like it. Very abstract, very sound-scapeish. I have always been a fan of Trent Reznor's drum and electronica elements, but his vocals are sometimes over the top for me. Nice to have an album where I don't have to worry about that :)

If you like the ambient sound-scape sound, I highly recommend Ulrich Schnauss. His new album "Goodbye" is amazing. http://www.ulrich-schnauss.com/
